Job Description

Job Title: Business Analyst – Finance Systems (hybrid)

Location: US-GA-Atlanta (Sandy Springs)

FLSA: Exempt

Job Overview:

This position will have responsibilities of: Business Analyst (40%), Project Management (40%), and Production Support (10%). For the Business Analyst piece, the candidate will identify and communicate with users to formulate and produce requirements specification to create process or report/systems-based requirements. The candidate should also have Project Management skills to manage assigned projects. This includes interfacing with project stakeholders, both internally and externally. Candidate must be able to see beyond the data to understand its meaning in context with the rest of the enterprise. Successful candidates will have a passion for continuous improvement in all processes and have the ability to understand, analyze and make recommendations to improve efficiency as well as quantify the savings gained from those improvements.


This will be a client facing role and will require soft skills such as relation management and negotiation skills to drive tasks to closure in the best interest of the client. This position requires technical problem-solving skills that will be used to understand root cause of issues and find scalable and reliable solutions. Candidate should be self-driven and have the right attitude to solve complex business problems and have excellent communication skills to advise of his/her findings and recommendations.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage deployments/monthly activities across multiple development teams
  • Document detailed business requirements including technical specifications for any given assignment. Leverage user stories and process flows as needed.
  • Serve as the liaison between IT and other functional departments on behalf of the client. Additionally, work to effectively communicate business needs to development team.
  • Works dynamically with multiple stakeholders (internally and externally) to coordinate and gather requirements for reporting or project related tasks
  • Build understanding of new technologies and manages implementations as these arise
  • Perform system support/administration that includes user support. Troubleshoot issues as they arise and manage users in application/system.
  • Analyze existing/new processes and database models to make recommendations on potential process improvements
  • Serve as a representative for the company and IT function while in front of the client (internal and external)
  • Support business functions daily for ad hoc requests (SQL queries, report analysis, etc.)

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written (email), and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter & driven
  • Uses analytical skills to dissect problems and develop viable solution that supports the business needs
  • Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, Total Quality Management certifications\skills a plus
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Work independently and accomplish tasks with little oversight
  • Experience in SQL queries – Intermediate (SQL Test will be conducted)
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in similar role required
  • Project Management experience/skills
  • Data Science skills a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Management Information Systems (MIS), Analytics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Data modeling skills a plus
  • Proficient in BI Reporting & Visualization tools – Looker, Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, etc.
