Business Analyst - Entry Level


Position Purpose


As a Business Analyst, you will assist in the analysis, design, coordination, and implementation/support of custom development/integration projects. You will be involved in 3rd-party integration projects utilizing batch and real-time solutions with a focus on Service Oriented Architecture technology. This position will provide exposure to many Fiserv applications across the enterprise. The role provides an opportunity to grow in communication, project management, and internal/external client interaction.


Essential Job Responsibilities


Project Discovery:


  • When necessary, develop Visio diagrams or other illustrations to communicate project workflows and conditions to facilitate understanding of the project.
  • Help the client understand the work they need to perform internally in order to support the designed solution.
  • Identify stakeholders and facilitates discussions to elicit and understand client needs, requirements, and priorities.
  • Within the required degree of confidence, provide estimates for projects and tasks of various sizes.
  • Learn about the client's internal applications and how they interact with Fiserv.
  • Ensure that the proposed solutions are feasible given the technological, resource, and schedule constraints of the project.
  • When necessary, provide development with design information including, but not limited to, data field mapping, proposed report layouts, and UI design ideas.
  • Present and gain acceptance of the Statement of Work and manages change throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Translate features and requirements into a fully-formed project Statement of Work that describes the needs, features, constraints, and scope of a project.


Internal Process Management


  • Submit appropriate requests for contracts, development, and all other required internal process requests needed to complete project, and monitor the status of these requests.


Project Oversight


  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing to confirm that the delivered solution successfully implements the requirements defined in the
  • Review development and quality assurance artifacts for traceability purposes.
  • From project vision through product delivery, facilitate and maintain requirements traceability.


Scope Of Work


  • Help the customer understand the work they need to do to support the proposed solution. Respond to customer inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for the client and 3rd-party, if applicable.


Required Qualifications


  • Previous experience with banking software and/or solid understanding of banking operations
  • Bachelor degree in Business Management, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience working in a technical software development, installation or integration environment.
  • Minimum of 3+ years software installation/support/project management preferred


Typical Project Size


  • Small - Medium


Types Of Projects


  • Oversee projects often involving standard Fiserv or 3rd-party APIs and other standard Professional Services offerings. Projects often will have standardized implementation and testing procedures defined.


Other responsibilities may be assigned to the Business Analyst at management’s discretion.


Travel Required


  • Minimal - 10%


This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.
