STATEMENT OF DUTIES

General Statement Of Duties:
Provides budget analysis for the Colorado Judicial Department. May assist with budget preparation and execution, fiscal notes, capital constructions and business planning.

Distinguishing Factors:
This position is distinguished from other positions by the development and management of budget request documents, monitoring expenditures, and providing technical assistance to managers regarding budget and fiscal issues. Receives supervision from a Budget Analyst II or higher level classification.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

This position allows for a mix of on-site and remote work, but requires three days in the office each week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develops budget request documents, including various schedules, supplemental requests, decision items, budget amendments, and other budget requests.
Prepares allocation spreadsheets as requested by the budget officer.
Prepares budget spreadsheets monthly for trial courts, probation, Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, special purpose, and administration; notifies the budget officer of potential problems.
Prepares invoices and coding sheets.
Provides information, training, and technical assistance to managers regarding budget and fiscal issues.
Receives fiscal notes from the Legislative Council Staff, forwards to the budget officer, and maintains tracking sheets and bill File/S.
Prepares fiscal notes as requested.
Completes financial reports for grants.
Prepares quarterly reports of revenue tracking for review; coordinates with other staff as needed.
Obtains required information and completes forms as necessary to make property management claims.
Coordinates with the Risk Management office as necessary.
Attends meetings and training as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Responsible for one's own work product and may provide guidance, assistance, or mentorship to less knowledgeable or experienced coworkers. This may include instructing in work methods, and reviewing work products.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in government budgeting, fiscal analysis, auditing, or other related area. A Master's degree in Judicial, Public, or Business Administration or CPA certification may substitute for the experience required.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to perform repetitive motions, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. May handle emergency or crisis situations; is subject to many interruptions; may handle multiple calls and inquiries simultaneously.
