Grade 3

Material Handler / Boat Mover

Put away, repack, pick, and deliver material to support assembly production while maintaining a high level of organization and accuracy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support training of new team members
• Process aerosols
• Learn to palletize and wrap parts
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Check fire extinguishers
• Report safety concerns
• Use of hand tools such as safety knife, prybar, wrenches and hammer
• Communicate issues/needs with parts, containers, labels, or documentation
• Put away materials and restock pick locations using an order picker
• Process empty drums
• Change filters plantwide
• Operate various equipment such as: forklifts and trash/cardboard compactors
• Dispose of waste, cardboard, and pallets
• Change “floorsâ€� as needed
• Move Boats as needed
• Open containers using hand held tools
• Maintain, sweep, clean and organized work area and aisles
• Empty router table bins
• Understand and use visual controls to replenish parts, maintain inventory levels and identify potential shortages

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Lift/carry up to 10 lbs constantly and up to boxes weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Bend, twist/turn, push/pull, reach overhead and grasp tools as necessary.
• Basic counting, adding and subtracting.
• Occasionally crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, and reach forward and overhead.
• Experience using RF scanning devices.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
• Previous experience in inventory, material handling, part picking, or similar position is preferred.
• Perform tasks that are primarily walking and standing for full 8-12 hour shift.
• Push/pull up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Good organization, attention to detail, and time management.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, write and understand).

Safety Requirements:

• Must always possess the desire and ambition to work safely and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately
• Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies
• Must be able to understand all safety related document and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
• Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, standing, etc., with or without reasonable accommodation.
