Job Description

The laboratory of Professor Ying Lu at Stanford University is seeking a Biostatistician 1 (1 year fixed term) at 90% FTE, to work closely with senior statistician(s) to manage relevant databases as necessary, design studies, devise analysis plan, create analytic files, implement analysis plan and report and publish findings.

Duties include:

  • Participate in the preparation of papers for publication.
  • Create analytic files with detailed documentation.
  • Implement data analysis through statistical programming.
  • Summarize findings orally and in written form.
  • Present results for investigators using graphs and tables.
  • - Other duties may also be assigned

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good mathematical training and general knowledge of clinical trials
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Excellence in programming skills in R and Python
  • Self-driving and learning to fill knowledge gap

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics or related field.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Outstanding ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Skills in descriptive analysis, modeling of data, and graphic interfaces.
  • Proficient in at least two of R, SAS, SPSS, or STATA and Python.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Frequently perform desk based computer tasks, seated work and use light/ fine grasping.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, and write by hand, lift, carry, push pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

May work extended or non-standard hours based on project or business cycle needs.

The expected pay range for this position is $91,000 to $109,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
