The Boulder County Clerk and Recorder's Office provides the best in public service through its three divisions: Motor Vehicle, Recording, and Elections. We have an outstanding reputation in fulfilling this mission, and we are seeking 2 Spanish Bilingual Motor Vehicle Administrative Technicians who will bring a passion for public service to ensure excellent service for our citizens. The Motor Vehicle Division is responsible for the accurate titling and registering of all Boulder County vehicles. We are team of 43 staff and 2 hourly temporary staff with three different branch locations: Boulder, Longmont, and Lafayette. This position will work in the Longmont branch and may be required to work in other branches as needed.
The ideal candidate loves working with the public in a team environment, collaborating with other staff to deliver excellent service and maintain high standards while having fun. In addition, the ideal candidate demonstrates accountability for meeting job duties; a willingness to find ways to assist the public while ensuring compliance standards are met; experience with data entry; close attention to detail; ability to quickly learn and apply complex rules and regulations; and enjoyment of rule/statute-oriented work duties.
This is a full-time, benefited position. This position will work Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 5:30pm. This position will work in Longmont, CO. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $41,784.00 - $50,958.00 Annually
Tentative Hiring Timeline:
- Phone Screening: May 22nd
- Second Round Interviews: June 5th
- Language Proficiency Testing: June 13th
- Reference Checks: June 8th
- First Round Interviews: May 29th
- Update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Additional duties as required
- Assist the public with vehicle title and registration procedures, asking questions to determine the appropriate course of action
- Log and track all incoming and outgoing documents using a specialized tracking system
- Complete VIN inspections
- Balance cash drawer each day correctly
- Participate in regular meetings with supervisor, contributing ideas, concerns, and solutions
- Demonstrate skillful public relations when working with the public
- Assist the public in person, by email, and on the phone, providing information that requires interpretation of state statutes, rules, and regulations
- Conduct self in a professional manner and work as an effective team member
- Travel between the three branches to cover for other Spanish speakers as needed, sometimes with very little notice
- Ensure compliance with state statute and rules as well as C&R processes and policies for areas of responsibility
- Demonstrate the values of our office and contribute new ideas to enhance these values: equity and inclusion, service, stewardship, collaboration, accountability, integrity, alignment, and teaming
- Assist with special projects
- Process mail and time stamp mortgage documents
- Participate in regular staff meetings by bringing positive, solution-focused ideas while celebrating the team’s successes
- Provide Spanish translation services, both verbal and in writing, to our office when needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a High School Diploma, or equivalent.

BILINGUAL SKILLS:
- Applicants must demonstrate fluency at the time of the pre-employment screening process. Bilingual in English & Spanish must be able to Read and Write Spanish fluently. Spanish language proficiency will be determined through standardized demonstration with oral and written testing.

- Type 35 words per minute
- Data entry skills
- Two years of office experience
- Able to assist members of the public all day while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to research and interpret statute
