This is an outpatient clinic offering a hybrid of in person and telehealth services including clinical assessments and mental health treatment primarily for children/youth 6 to 18 years old, their families and caregivers on a weekly basis. The team provides family, individual, and group therapy. Team culture includes a collaborative and supportive learning environment for clinicians seeking to provide services to underserved communities. The team has a commitment to addressing cultural and implicit biases to improve the quality of services. Clinical experience and credentialing in substance use, play therapy, DBT, EMDR, art therapies and animal assistance models are encouraged. Substance use credentialing has a pay differential.

Mental Health Therapist II - $27.08/hr

LPC/LCSW/LMFT - $30.91/hr - $31.41/hr

Spanish Language Differential - $2.50/hr

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide case management and coordination services to consumers as needed or make appropriate referrals to ensure basic needs are met both to internal and external resources
  • Provide diagnostic evaluations, crisis interventions, individual, family, and group therapy for a caseload of individuals and families receiving weekly therapy.
  • Collaborate with youth and families on safety assessments and safety planning.
  • Develop treatment plans; monitor treatment progress and follow-up at disposition times.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, service coordinators and other professionals within the Child and Family department and the larger organization.
  • Assess level of care and acuity to identify most appropriate and least restrictive level of care.
  • Assist youth and families with social/emotional/psychological development and problematic behaviors that cause difficulties with school, home or community.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with Medicaid and organizational standards.
  • Weekly team meetings required. Individual supervision up to weekly and at minimum 2x monthly. Group supervision up to 2x monthly. Licensure supervision available for all credentials (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, & LP).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a trauma informed and culturally sensitive environment of wellbeing.
  • For licensed individuals: Clinical supervision experience is available with this position by supporting a student internship placement or providing supervision hours for unlicensed staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Master's Degree in social work, psychology, or similar field.

May have a current license as a LCSW/LPC/LMFT in the State of Colorado but not required.

EXPERIENCE: At least one year experience with child, adolescent or family mental health or human services preferred.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge or ability to learn and practice culturally sensitive care and services.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn methods of psychotherapy with a systems approach.
  • Ability to work at least 1 late evening a week. No on call work required.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn community resources.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
  • Familiarity with DSM V and diagnostic techniques required, specifically with regards to children and youth is preferred.
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans for professional development.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently, flexibly, and quickly adapt to changing situations with supervisory support available as needed.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required. Other Bilingual skills also encouraged to apply.
  • Desire to improve the equity of services, address cultural and implicit biases within the mental health system, team and engage in conversations to improve the quality of services is strongly preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: For licensed individuals: Clinical supervision experience is available with this position by supporting a student internship placement or providing supervision hours for unlicensed staff for a qualified individual. Supervisors must have the ability to ensure the student or staff is able to complete the essential job functions and help develop their skills and competencies as listed above.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS: Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans. Must be open and able to develop self-care practices and work to address clinician experiences of vicarious trauma does occur within the team to support longevity in this field.

WORKING CONDITIONS: May require working until 6 or 7 pm some days of the week. May require some local travel to various WellPower locations. On-site location for this position is at 1405 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80204. Hybrid of in-person and telehealth.
