In order to continually promote and create innovative products that support our vision we are currently seeking a BI Developer in Richmond, VA.

The BI Developer is responsible for working independently and within the Business Technology team to deliver reporting and dashboard solutions that meet the needs of business organizations in the US division. The BI Developer must work well in a team setting and have excellent organizational, prioritization, communication, and time management skills.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Business Intelligence Responsibilities

• Liaise with stakeholders and GIT to enable the use of data for business decision support, and for effective planning and implementation of Business Intelligence solutions.
• Plan, manage and control service delivery with a focus on Agile methodologies, business collaboration, and business enablement for Data Analytics.
• Collaborate with technology and business teams to identify and implement Business Intelligence best practices.

Consultant Responsibilities

• Interview stakeholders and collaborate with business analysts to gather and document solution requirements, use cases and test scenarios for business solutions.
• Install and verify solutions and components in development, test, and production environments.
• Proactively assess current processes and protocols and identify process improvements.
• Manage source code in a controlled repository, to ensure availability, quality and integrity.
• Create and document technical design specifications based on functional and non-functional solution requirements.
• Collaborate with technology teams to define and maintain development standards and guidelines.
• Deliver well-designed, performance-optimized, adequately commented, testable and efficient code.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, data & analytics or relevant training experience

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ year experience in an Agile organization with a formal Agile methodology (Scrum preferred).
• 2+ year experience with Python data manipulation and plotting libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
• Experience with requirements gathering.
• 5+ years relevant work experience with Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) as a Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing developer.
• 5+ years of experience with Power BI paginated report and dashboard development, tabular model development.
• 5+ years of professional ETL experience within Microsoft stack (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, SQL Agent), Snowflake, and familiarity of Azure or AWS.
• Experience working with and within virtual or physically dispersed teams preferred.

SKILLS:

• Ability to analyze data issues within reports.
• Perform analysis, design, development, validation, and implementation of reports.
• Advanced T-SQL skills (knowledge of stored procedures, CTE’s, triggers, indexing, etc.)
• Skilled in business acumen, relationship management, business issue/opportunity diagnosis and root cause analysis, project management, solution design, solution architecture, business intelligence, data analytics architecture, change management processes and process improvement.
• Knowledge of various programming languages, such as Python, SQL, and analytical tools, such as PySpark, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Ability to design and plan scalable BI solutions.
• Focus on continued professional development by pursuing use of new tools/technologies – both open source and proprietary.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Familiar with principles of Data Visualization and designing effective and visually appealing dashboards.
• Customer-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and a passion to create value for our business through collaboration with customers, consumers, and employees.
• Intermediate to advanced DAX and data modeling skills.
• Expertise in Data Warehousing (Star and Snowflake schemas), ETL, Modeling, Report design and development.
