Job Description
Behavior Analyst (Multiple Positions) - Greenwood Interprofessional Autism Center
This is a unique leadership and professional development opportunity to be part of a mission-driven autism center at a public university.
Truman State University is seeking Behavior Analysts (BCBA) for the Greenwood Interprofessional Autism Center which is scheduled to begin providing services September 1, 2023. The start date of these positions would be July 5, 2023, to allow adequate time for training and orientation. These positions are located on Truman’s campus in Kirksville, Missouri; remote options are not available.
The Behavior Analysts have primary responsibility for patient treatment including supervision of the Behavior Therapist(s) and coordination of care with other members of the treatment team for their assigned caseload.
The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the duties and responsibilities that will be required of the position, but additional responsibilities may be required.

Opportunities for adjunct teaching and additional assignments are also available, subject to need and qualifications. This position will also work with the University to help develop and implement policies for our traditional Truman students who can benefit from these supports.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Assessment and Treatment
  • Provides ongoing guidance to caregivers to ensure they are well-versed on the patient’s plan of care and identified interventions
  • Includes external stakeholders and other members of the treatment plan in the assessment and planning process
  • Modifies interventions as needed to match the pace of patient progress
  • Prepares individualized treatment and behavior support plans
  • Assists with performance evaluations for behavior therapists
  • Incorporates patient and caregiver/family preferences in developing comprehensive and meaningful plan of care
  • Prepares progress reports
  • Conducts skill-based, preference and reinforcer, and behavioral assessments as indicated by the presentation of the patient and makes appropriate recommendations for treatment based on results
Support and Direction of Behavior Therapists
  • Provides feedback to Behavior Therapists on job performance, including strengths and areas of growth
  • Conducts competency-based evaluations as directed
  • Provides individualized training to behavior therapists to ensure they are prepared to succeed
Professionalism
  • Maintains appropriate professional boundaries when working with families and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrates effective organizational and time management qualities to meet necessary timelines
  • Maintains licensure or certification or makes adequate progress towards completion of the requirements for licensure or certification
  • Maintains ongoing communication with supervisor and colleagues. Discusses problems or concerns with supervisor as appropriate. Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings
  • Protects the privacy and security of the patient’s protected health or other personally identifiable information (PHI and PII)
  • Completes all documentation accurately and timely (e.g., session notes, treatment plans, performance evaluations, etc.)
  • Maintains positive communication with families, members of the treatment team, external stakeholders, and supervisor by returning phone calls and emails within 24 hours; informing supervisor as soon as possible when unable to keep a scheduled appointment or other change of plans; informing supervisor immediately of any important concerns pertaining to assigned caseload
Required Qualifications
  • Comfortable to learn new technologies (such as practice management or data collection software)
  • Minimum education and experience as required by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to obtain board certification at the master’s level
  • Strong administrative skills
  • May be required or requested to physically assist patients with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, or self-care tasks
  • Must be able to physically assist patients during an emergency
  • Board certification with the BACB
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent transportation to locations not served by public transportation
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Compensation: The annual salary for this position is $70,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience. About Greenwood Interprofessional Autism Center: The former Greenwood Elementary School, a treasured community building in Kirksville, has been converted to a facility dedicated to serving those with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. This comprehensive health services center will be staffed with licensed professionals in addition to supervised graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in health-related, academic programs. The center will serve as a much-needed practicum site for a number of the health-related programs.
