POSITION SUMMARY:

• This position includes but not limited to operating of the Cry-O-Vac packaging machines at acceptable OEE and Quality levels.

Responsibilities:

• Bag all smoked meats items as needed.
• Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements.
• Perform routine autonomous maintenance on cryovac and baggers to include installing and removing seal bars daily.
• Perform leaker evaluation to include root cause analysis and notify the operators of any problem with leaker on line.
• Audit boxes for leakers in the packaging room and fill out appropriate paperwork associated with the leaker check program.
• Know and understand all labeling, dating, film, bags and boxes needs for all products.
• Inform supervisor of any ongoing issues related to product quality, safety, or package integrity.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
• Set up and run all equipment, change dies films and labels.
• Observe all Safety, Food Safety, and Sanitation procedures; to include process checks, HACCP checks and documentation as directed.
• Change bags as necessary.
• Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor.
• Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable.
• Remove product from forms and racks when needed.
• Tear down and clean machines at the end of the shift.

Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain a tow motor certification Move 500 to 700-pound racks from holding cooler to the packaging-area.
• Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 20 pounds. (5 reps/minute)
• Ability to strenuous flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently (10 flexion/minute).
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination to move product on a conveyor and/or other processing equipment.
• Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Occasional climbing of stairs several times per hour required.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Able to complete all paperwork and SAP functions as required for position.
• Must be able to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend, up to 10 hrs.
• Ability to work in wet and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.
• Must be able to life/lower/carry up to 20 pounds with back and legs.

START TIME: 5:00 am – Done (Monday-Thursday)
