Your Role and Responsibilities

Automation & DevOps Engineer brings a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience automating cloud services and infrastructure across a broad range of technologies. They are expected to participate in design meetings and workshops, dive into deep technical topics, discuss common architecture patterns and reference models, and develop automations for the client.
Experience:
  • Ability to contribute to architecture & design, gather and analyze requirements, and implement specific solutions.
  • Hands on knowledge or ability with technology implementation across one or more domains: IT infrastructure, Converged & Hyper Converged Infrastructure, Cloud, Storage, Networking (Cloud and Non-Cloud), Enterprise Monitoring, IT Operations and Governance etc.
  • Experience working as an Automation Engineer, SRE, or DevOps engineer for an IT professional services firm or similar background in a large enterprise.
  • Broad knowledge of major cloud and infrastructure technologies including virtualization, containers, networking etc. on different cloud platforms
  • Understanding DevOps, Agile, Scrum construct to participate in the development and deployment of automations.
  • Participate in readiness assessments and development of strategies and approaches to optimize the implementation of cloud resources and capabilities.

Key skills:
  • Experience with Kubernetes, database tuning/configuration, DevOps toolchains, provisioning automation, service management, operations and security
  • Hands on experience with common automation tools and processes
• Excellent communication & documentation skills • Knowledgeable of DevOps and CI/CD automation tools such as Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, and cloud native scripting such as CloudFormation and ARM templates.
  • Knowledgeable of scripting with one or more: YAML, JSON, PowerShell, BASH or Python
  • Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration and management platform e.g., OpenShift or equivalent implementation
  • In depth understanding of security controls and implementations in the cloud
• Must have participated in Agile projects and understand Scrum • Understanding of design best practices for at least one cloud provider
  • Hands on development of automation artifacts using appropriate best practices
  • Participate in regular technology lunch and learns to disseminate knowledge
  • Expertise with SDLC life cycle (agile and waterfall) and associated IT processes
  • Work with business analysts and application developers to understand infrastructure, automation and operational requirements and build a backlog
  • Familiarity with the logging and monitoring tools like ELK, Splunk, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail
  • Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a plus Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the creation of technical presentations or demonstrations
  • Participate in design sessions, readiness assessments, and strategy discussions.
  • Contribute to knowledge base and methods with technique papers, work product descriptions, architectural decisions, guiding principles, documents and code assets
  • Certified in one or more cloud platform (RedHat, AWS, Azure, GCP) is required. Multiple certs across two or more cloud ecosystems is a big plus.
  • Participate in architecture reviews to capture learnings and update methodologies and assets

If you are hired, the anticipated compensation range for the position $136,110 to $272,220 is based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately.
If this is a sales role, you may be eligible for additional incentive compensation opportunities. For non-sales roles, you may be eligible for Kyndryl’s Growth Driven Profit-Sharing plan.
