Job Description

Peoples Gas Light & Coke Co, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking 2 Auto Mechanics in our Chicago, Illinois location.

Job Summary


Peoples Gas, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is currently recruiting for 2 Auto Mechanic position out of various Chicago, IL shop locations. Shift assignments are determined by seniority and these positions may be assigned to the 3:30 – Midnight shift. The hourly rate for this position starts at $35.51 with scheduled contractual increases.

Job Responsibilities


  • Ensure proper repair and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment by performingpreventive maintenance, inspection and servicing.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Tire repairs.
  • Basic machining operations.

Minimum Experience Required


  • 1+ years - Previous Automotive Maintenance experience
  • 1+ years - Basic PC skills
  • Valid driver's license with ability to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Technical Degree/Certification in Automotive/ Diesel Mechanics

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working with heavy trucks or off road construction equipment
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software
