Job Description
Position Summary
The Coats Company is seeking an Associate Product Manager who will report to the Director of Strategy & Product. This individual will own the product development, roadmap, and vision for digital products. The Associate Product Manager will work closely with Engineering/Design to craft unique products/interfaces that improve user experience, brand interest, and customer engagement.

What You Will Do
  • Become an expert of Coats equipment through hands-on training with the product line.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to generate brand awareness for digital products through search, social media, and email.
  • Respond to customer/partner inquiries with timeliness and care.
  • Weigh insights against strategic priorities to develop a roadmap of new offerings for your product line.
  • Manage product lifecycle; work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to execute your roadmap and vision.
  • Advocate for design decisions through effective storytelling to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Anticipate and resolve tactical roadblocks before they manifest into strategic concerns.
  • Utilize creativity and outside the box thinking to deliver meaningful and memorable products.
  • Gather and analyze insights related to customer preferences, buying habits, wants, and needs.
  • Solicit user feedback to design iterative prototypes of increasing customer value.
  • Develop prototypes and mockups that clearly illustrate the look and function of an interface.
Measurements of Performance
  • Success of new products (New Product Vitality).
  • Revenue growth.
  • UX KPIs: Task Success Rate, System Usability Score, User Error Rate.
  • Margin expansion.
Who You Are
  • Industry 4.0 Expertise: Deep understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts, technologies, and trends, including IoT, AI/ML, cloud computing, and data analytics.
  • Coding Languages Proficiency: Proficiency in the most common coding languages, such as Python, Java, C++, and JavaScript. While you might not be a full-fledged developer, you should have enough coding knowledge to understand technical challenges, collaborate effectively with development teams, and make informed decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, product managers, and business stakeholders. The ability to bridge communication gaps between technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial for successful product development.
  • API Integration Skills: Experience in integrating diverse systems and technologies through APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). Understanding of how to design, implement, and manage API connections to ensure seamless interoperability between different components of partnered solutions.
  • Product Management Experience: Proven track record in product management, including ideation, development, launch, and post-launch optimization of digital products. Ability to create and execute product roadmaps aligned with business goals and customer needs in the context of Industry 4.0.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or associated fields.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience in leveraging data analytics and metrics to make informed product decisions. Proficiency in using data analysis tools and platforms to gather insights, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and iterate on product features based on user behavior and market trends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ready and willing to be the face of a company’s digital transformation.
  • Demonstrated interest in the automotive sector.
  • Familiarity with Android based applications and interfaces.
  • 2-3 years of software experience in a business setting.
  • Ability to drive an integrated and effective brand refresh across marketing channels.
