Job Description
Electronic Arts Inc. is a global leader in interactive entertainment. We develop and deliver games, content and online services across platforms. We have a broad portfolio of brands that span the most popular genres.
Finding great talent and supporting our studios to be the best place for people to make an impact is central to our philosophy. This is the principle behind our newly formed Seattle Studio focusing on open-world action-adventure games and pioneering next-generation emergent storytelling. Join us to pursue your passion to build unique, groundbreaking and inclusive games that empower players to create incredible stories of heroic adventure. Become a foundational part of an ambitious, respectful and diverse team as we are looking for a Senior Designer to join our team.
We're looking for an Associate Narrative Designer to join our diverse and respectful team, assisting in the development of a AAA open-world game with a focus on procedural narrative. You will report to the VP of Creative and collaborate with the Narrative Team to develop the game's characters, world, and narrative, ensuring they come to life through a harmonious blend of narrative and gameplay systems.
Your role will emphasize writing skills, particularly in character development and the crafting of relationships. You will create unforgettable moments of intense emotional connection between characters that players will either deeply love or passionately despise.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate during voice-over sessions to ensure the narrative and performance goals are met.
  • Help create, develop, and refine the narrative experience across all areas of the game, with an emphasis on characters and dialogue.
  • Add to all aspects of the narrative including documentation, in-game content, and dialogue, with a focus on creating memorable and emotional moments for the player.
  • Help review and edit submissions from other writers.
Qualifications
  • Experience with procedural narrative or interactive fiction.
  • An understanding of modern story games and their narrative mechanics is beneficial.
  • Experience in writing or narrative design in a game development context.
  • Knowledge of high-profile and beloved IP is a plus.
If you're enthusiastic about the role but not certain that you meet every qualification, we still want to hear from you. At EA, we value diverse experiences and perspectives, and we encourage individuals with a passion for storytelling to apply, even if you don't tick every box.
Join us on this journey to create unforgettable stories and characters that will resonate with players for years to come.
