Job Description

Description

The Patient Care Technician initiates monitors and discontinues dialysis treatments under the direct supervision of an RN. The technician also performs equipment disinfection dialyzer reprocessing and other technical duties which support the clinical care of the dialysis patient.

Required Qualifications:

  • Complete competency training and demonstrate successful performance of competencies within 3 months of hire (Competencies are described in the Core Curriculum for the Dialysis Technician)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year Patient care experience, for example: inpatient transportation, CNA paramedical training, phlebotomy, physical therapy, surgery technician
  • Post-secondary education with courses in the sciences and/or psychology
