Our team, Complete Vehicle, is part of Volvo Group Trucks Technology function based in Greensboro, NC. Group Trucks Technology provides state-of-the-art research, engineering, product planning and project execution to final delivery of complete products and supports the products in the aftermarket.
At Complete Vehicle we contribute to deliver the right Products & Services customers according to product segmentation and brand positioning. We are a team of specialized functions with high focus on cooperation to get a holistic view of the entire truck and bring hands-on truck experience into the projects. We are close to end customers to understand their needs and behaviors and bring users perspective into the projects. We do this by breaking down features to technical requirements, translating the soul of the brand to a product message, delivering all truck and component builds, developing niche products and aftermarket solutions and verifying and validating products and services.

What You Will be Doing
As an Associate CAD engineer, you will be working with our Prototype Operations team to deliver tomorrow’s products today by using CAD tools to analyze prototype test objects.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Participating in cross-functional work related to prototypes together with representatives from Prototype Builds, Vehicle Engineering, Prototype Test and Assembly, and the CV-PMO to support test object assembly.
  • Building virtual models of test objects to support bill-of-material development and graphical representations for the build teams.
  • Acting as an active member of the Prototype Operations Team and working closely with project managers, technology leaders, buyers, workshop personnel as well as the development and verification teams.
  • Supporting Prototype Operations to ensure that all prototypes needed for the verification and validation in development projects are delivered on time and with the correct content.
  • Using CAD to identify and support resolution of packaging conflicts prior to test object build starts.

Who You Are
You are an ambitious Engineer that is prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering related to prototype builds and project management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment and automotive transportation industry preferred
  • 0-3+ years of CAD engineering experience
  • CAD/CREO experience required; Professional training in a CAD system preferred
