- Collaborate with the Associate Managing Editor and Editorial Managers to assist the editorial team throughout the book creation process, including and not limited to ghostwriter compatibility, developmental editing, line editing, polishing descriptive copy, copyediting, and late stage proofing.
- Help establish and adhere to editorial timelines across all titles.
- Manage the Revisions process with authors for reprints.
- Review Line Edits, Copy Edits, and perform Editorial Proofs prior to layout and design.
- Assist in project tracking data management for each title as outlined by the Associate Managing Editor.
- Review multiple rounds of author edits made in the design stages prior to author’s final galley sign-off. Familiarity with ProofHQ and InCopy is a plus.
- Review and edit all front matter (testimonials, acknowledgments, etc.) permissions, sources, and cover copy for all titles, ensuring all are completed and in place by the Copy Edit for each manuscript.
- Guarantee <5% of rework to finished products due to editorial error.

- Experience with monday.com or other project management platforms is a plus.
- 2+ years of copyediting experience
- Exceptional writing, editing, grammar, spelling, and communication skills
- Undergraduate degree in English or Journalism
- Experience in the book publishing and printing industry a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively with a highly creative and senior-level clients
- High level of competency with Google Apps for Business (Mail, Calendar, Drive) and Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role regularly uses a laptop as well as online cloud-based file management systems (such as Dropbox, Google Drive, etc) and participates in online video-based (Zoom, Google Meet) calls. This role may, on occasion, need to use standard office equipment such as phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
- Team Member may be occasionally required to perform light to moderate lifting of office supplies, up to 20 pounds.
- The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and telephone. Near visual acuity is required in order to work with computers.
