Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in CAD/GIS engineering, construction, drafting and or surveying work. • Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities for the position.
• Associate Degree from an accredited college or university or 2 years training from a Technical college in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD).

Position Summary

Under general supervision, perform a broad variety of drafting/technical support duties using Computer-Aided Design/Drafting (CAD) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Drafter Associate is responsible for the creation of detailed computerized engineering construction drawings, maps, for the infrastructure of Denver Water.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform research, observation, audits, drafting/support tasks of specialized assigned projects.
• Create As-Built drawings using AutoCAD, from survey data, inspector notes, and collected GPS points and redline drawings.
• Ability to obtain and review information from record drawings, files, survey notes, photos, and AutoCAD forms in alignment with drafting standards.
• Perform related work as required.
• Create alignments for Asset Recording group (ARG) to accomplish work effort for posting to asset mapping.
• Maintain active communication with inspectors, engineers, and surveyors, for any CAD production issues.
• Perform design and drafting related activities including project layout/plotting sheets set plans.
