The Opportunity


The Associate Director - Study Abroad provides direct support to the Director, UCF Abroad, in overseeing and managing the study abroad unit. Serves as a subject matter expert for study abroad and student mobility. Supports the Director in work with faculty, academic colleges, student services, and administrative departments to offer accessible and high-quality programs.


Responsibilities


  • Assists the Director, UCF Abroad with problems, emergencies, and other relevant issues as they arise. Provides direct support to the Director, Study Abroad, and serves as acting Director in their absence.
  • Supports the Director to develop and implement faculty-led, short-term exchange, and provider programs. Provides high-impact international experiences to students. Builds relationships with host program coordinators, students, parents, and faculty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Oversees UCF Abroad engagement and serves as the primary liaison; may serve as Director designee to HIP Hub, ad hoc, and standing university committees.
  • In consultation with the Office of Data and Strategic Projects, supports the Director in the development and implementation of assessment and institutional effectiveness plans.
  • Supervises personnel, as assigned. Supervises grant-funded Peace Corps Strategic Recruiter.
  • Supports the mission of the university and Director, UCF Abroad by identifying, developing, and implementing programs in key strategic areas.
  • Provides support to obtain necessary visas, make travel arrangements, conducts orientations, and provides health insurance information.


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of leadership experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • Strong written and oral communication skills are key to this position.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Terra Dotta, Workday, and PeopleSoft is desirable.
