Job Description
The Role:
Reporting to Director, Quality Assurance Operations, the Sr. Manager of Quality Operations is responsible to
set-up and coordinate performance management and large project oversight within the Quality Organization.
Working in collaboration with Global and Local Quality teams and stakeholders, he/she ensures that Quality operations are conducted in a compliant and efficient manner, considering:
Global regulations and industry standards
Operational Excellence principles
Digitalization plans and opportunities
Department budget, strategy, and projection.
The incumbent will leverage proven quality management and process improvement methodologies, leading team and cross-functional initiatives achieving sustainable and measurable business results.
The candidate will be an integral partner to Moderna’s innovative technology platform as we continue to integrate automation and digital technology into everything we do.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Lead Quality operations right first-time improvement projects, ensuring strong connection between the Quality team and stakeholders. Lead improvement efforts for prioritized processes and support other initiatives as required
Interact with process/operations owners, to help define and document project objectives, governance, and priorities within the scope of the project/program/initiative
Serve as “project manager” and mentor, providing guidance to Quality members and teams.
Facilitate process mapping and root-cause analysis activities that lead to identification of process “wastes”, structural inefficiencies, and process improvement opportunities.
Demonstrates leadership and acts as a change agent, constructively challenging to generate open minded thinking
Apply change management methods to ensure effective execution of processes and quality system, and to promote a quality culture and mindset of operational excellence and continuous improvement
Build, maintain and leverage relationships across the matrix to identify opportunities for process improvement and facilitate the implementation and continuous monitoring of processes and staying up to date on developments in process improvement methodologies and best practices
Interface with key stakeholders, sponsors, and other senior management to confirm program/project sponsorship/support, strategic alignment, report progress, recognize achievements, and drive decision for significant issues and risks.
Performs other administrative/managerial duties as required.

BS or equivalent and 10 - 15 years of experience, or a Master’s level degree and 8 - 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
