Associate Designer - Women's

Position Summary:

Mud Pie is actively seeking an Associate Designer to join our Womens division. We are searching for apparel designers with an emphasis in accessories. This position will report to the Director of Design. Candidates must have 1-3 years of previous or relevant experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaboration with Technical Design Team in creation of apparel tech packs
• Support development team and sales team by preparing necessary visual tools
• Experience in gift/hard goods design
• Graphic Design
• Flat sketches and print/pattern design
• Responsible for creation of full accessory tech packs (i.e. handbags, hats, jewelry, etc.)
• Approvals for all design and production submits
• Sourcing fabrics and trims
• Collaborate with the Womens Design team in design of biannual collections
• Maintain and manage samples
• Trending and market analyzation (includes current consumer and competitor research)
• Execution of designs with overseas vendors through an outlined sampling and development process

Requirements:

• Understanding of entire design and product development process
• Strong organization and leadership skills
• Flexibility and a positive attitude under pressure
• Organization with a dedication to details and final product quality
• Be able to work on deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once
• Ability to understand current fashion market and future consumer trends
• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design or related field
• Ability to maintain and build relationships with overseas vendors
• 1 - 3 years in a fashion design and/or graphic design role
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Suite
• High level of creativity paired with strong understanding of the Mud Pie aesthetic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
