Assistant/Associate Professor Of English Full-Time Tenure-Track Faculty

SUMMARY
Spring Arbor University is seeking a faculty member with teaching experience in English. Review of applicants will begin immediately with the position beginning in Fall 2023.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The School of Humanities and Department of English at Spring Arbor University (SAU) invites applicants for a tenure-track position in English. Assigned courses will primarily include writing (including creative writing), editing, and a variety of literature courses taught face-to-face on SAU’s campus. The successful candidate will be able to convey their expertise and passion for the English language to students. Candidates from diverse populations, who have experiences working with diverse populations, and/or who have areas of expertise in the literature of diverse populations are especially encouraged to apply. Responsibilities will include teaching, development of scholarly endeavors (broadly defined), innovative curriculum development, mentoring students, contributing in collegial ways to build the department, and university service.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
A terminal degree in English, rhetoric, composition, or creative writing is preferred; ABD or master’s degree in English or a closely related area with at least 18 graduate hours in English is required. Successful college teaching experience in both the traditional campus environment and of non-traditional students online is strongly preferred. Experience with English/Language Arts in K-12 environments is helpful. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about academic excellence and about preparing students to impact the world for Jesus Christ within the vocations of English and English Education.

SALARY and BENEFITS
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and other qualifications. Rank will be determined by previous years of full-time faculty experience.
