JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME

The Oral Roberts University School of Liberal Arts (SOLA) invites applications for a full-time faculty position as coordinator of our composition program, beginning August 2022.

DUTIES

The duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach approximately 9 credit hours per semester
  • Oversee freshman and junior year composition courses, including syllabi and textbook updates
  • Work collaboratively with English/writing faculty to develop, implement, and assess curricula
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate new instructors

In addition to teaching assigned courses, full-time faculty members are expected to attend chapel services and academic meetings, serve on academic committees, support student activities, and hold office hours for mentoring and advisement.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A commitment to excellent teaching and scholarship
  • PhD is preferred
  • The preferred candidate will have expertise in composition pedagogy, use of technology, and multimodal classroom techniques
  • Candidates must have a minimum of an M.A. in Composition/Rhetoric, English, or a closely related field
