Job Description
The Assistant Warehouse Manager is a full-time non-exempt position responsible for overseeing the completion of fulfillment, receiving customer returns, and refurbishment of inventory. In addition, their duties include preparing schedules, managing Warehouse Associates, and monitoring compliance with safety standards. This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.


Responsibilities


  • Supports auditing warehouse inventory and resolving discrepancies weekly or as needed. Communicating with other departments to promptly solve inventory inquiries
  • Assist with maintenance of business reporting and manipulate reports as needed to identify and settle warehouse inventory discrepancies
  • Support the keeping the detailed records of changes in inventory and reporting them to appropriate stakeholders
  • Coordinate with internal Inventory team members to resolve orders that are out of stock, delayed, or backordered
  • Reinforce training initiatives for employees with the guidance of the Warehouse Manager
  • Assist in auditing and training the team on the disposition of items that are returned to the warehouse through reverse logistics
  • Meet regularly with the Warehouse Manager to review, analyze, and develop actionable productivity and loss prevention plans
  • Support with outbound shipments, communicating with carriers to ensure efficient delivery of packages
  • Supports in overseeing daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
  • Assists in ensuring compliance and understanding of the latest federal and state safety regulations, including OSHA requirements
  • Assists in ensuring the warehouse team maximizes efficiency and minimizes overtime
  • Assist in monitoring and replenishing warehouse and shipping supplies when needed


Position Type & Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 1-hour lunch. Work on Saturdays, as needed.


Work Environment


This job operates in a professional environment subject to state and local health ordinances. This role routinely uses warehouse equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, pallet jacks, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. A hard hat is required when on the warehouse floor. This position is actively evolving and subject to change.


Requirements


  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and maintain accuracy while multi-tasking
  • Team player
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems. Experience with NetSuite WMS is preferred
  • Exhibits excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, leadership qualities, making informed decisions, and interpreting data
  • Proactive, positive attitude and demeanor focused on diagnosing and resolving issues
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of experience in a warehouse lead role managing hourly employees
  • Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback
  • Commitment to excellence
  • Intermediate working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Physical - This is a physical role; the ability to lift boxes up to 35 lbs., bend down, or stand for long periods will be required


Supervisory Experience


This position has supervisory responsibilities.


Travel


Minimal (less than 5%) travel is expected for this position.


Pay Range


$29.00 - $30.00 per hour
