Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Research Services, the Research Services Assistant works to provide quality support to the Director and the Research Services team. The Assistant will provide daily administrative support to the Director and work on regularly scheduled and ad hoc projects for the team.
Essential Functions:
  • Manage source data records (5%)
  • Assists with data intake process (20%)
  • Follows work instructions or process guidelines (5%)
  • Perform literature searches according to search strategy, retrieve and save literature, and manage citations using citation management software (5%)
  • Perform editorial review of deliverables including internal documents, manuscripts, and presentations (5%)
  • Works with supervisor or other project manager to complete and prioritize all tasks according to daily, weekly, quarterly, or annual deadlines (5%)
  • Assists supervisor or other project manager to make improvements to work instructions or other process guidelines (5%)
  • Perform data abstraction/extraction/coding (5%)
  • Assist with updates to data collection tools and processes (5%)
  • Supports deliverable creation, including developing report templates and visual validation of deliverable data (5%)
  • Performs search queries to identify outstanding data (5%)
  • Assist with the submission of IRB, FDA, and sponsor documents and/or reports (5%)
  • Receives and tracks data from various sources (20%)
  • Performs quality assurance review of data to ensure completeness and accuracy (5%)

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task while providing team and customer support.
  • Ability to learn and navigate new software quickly. Must possess a professional and friendly attitude.
  • Critical analytical thinking skills, with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment while maintaining confidentiality around patient and/or clinical study information in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Outstanding technical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and execute action plans using good judgment, tact, and discretion.
  • Excellent technical skills, verbal and written communication skills, and good interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, learn research methods and general research. Strong knowledge of spreadsheet and database programs as well as other Microsoft Office products.
