The Mountain Judicial Circuit Public Defender Office has multiple attorney positions available, with experience levels ranging from recent graduates to seasoned trial lawyers. Based in Clarkesville, our office handles representation of indigent defendants charged with offenses in Habersham, Rabun, and Stephens counties.

Just a 90 minute drive north of Atlanta, our area offers the perfect mix of small town living with all the amenities of a large city. We have fine dining, nightlife, lakes including Burton and Rabun, hiking, whitewater rafting, camping, shopping, and more. The district offers excellent schools throughout, both public and private, as well as an affordable cost of living.

Our office enjoys a great working relationship with the Mountain Circuit District Attorney’s Office, as well as with our State, Juvenile, and Superior Court judges. Once you practice in the MJC, you’ll never want to be anywhere else!

Salary is commensurate with experience.
