Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience coordinating academics and mentoring students.
  • Demonstrated experience with recruiting in the Midwest.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and recruiting 2-year college athletes.
  • Strong interpersonal and computer skills.
  • Perform all job duties in a manner consistent with NCAA, conference and University rules, regulations, ordinances, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of the academic side of coaching.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of Division I rules and regulations.

Position Details

Position Purpose
Oakland University Athletics is a Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. Our Athletic Department is looking for a highly organized, driven and detail oriented individual to fill the position of Assistant Coach, Men’s Basketball.
This position reports directly to the Head Coach for Men’s Basketball. This position is responsible and accountable for assisting the head coach in all aspects of the Men’s Basketball Program, including but not limited to, coaching, recruiting, scheduling, conditioning, NCAA compliance and other duties as assigned by the head coach.
