Assistant Golf Professional Jobs

JOB PURPOSE: Assist Director of Golf and First Assistant on a daily basis. Oversee the Outside Services staff including the Marshals and Starters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with member events and attend various member functions.
• Responsible for great service to our guests and members;
• Interview and recommend new staff members in the Outside Service Department.
• Outside Services: Responsible for cleanliness of golf cart staging area, golf carts, bag room, cart barn, valet etc. (All areas have proper signage)
• Other duties as assigned
• Retail Staff: Assist with monthly inventory and weekly merchandising

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to play golf and know the game.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must have a Tournament Operations background
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to teach individual golf lessons to members.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Ability to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.
• Knowledge of golf clubs and golf equipment.
• Must be able to problem solve when dealing with people and be a team player.
• Three years of golf shop experience
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Lifting/Carrying up to 50lbs
• Some exposure to various weather conditions, hot, cold, windy, dusty.
