Opportunity:

Kohler Co., a multifaceted global family of brands valuing design, wellbeing, and responsibility, is seeking an Assistant Editor / Media Asset Manager to join The Beacon, Kohler Co.'s in-house creative agency. This role will primarily focus on supporting the creative and production team by managing deliveries, cataloging, data management, and storage of digital assets.

The Assistant Editor will work closely with the post-production producer, editors, other team members, and business partners to efficiently fulfill project-related deliverables. Reporting to the Creative Director, this individual's strong technical skills, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit will contribute to The Beacon's continuous evolution as a creative powerhouse. Overview:

  • Manage and organize hard drives and media sharing.
  • Ingest, transcode, sync, organize projects, create files for transcription and subtitling.
  • Collaborate with the production team to perform essential asset-management tasks such as cataloging, data management, managing deliveries, and archiving of projects.
  • Work alongside video editors and post-production supervisors to ingest and prep offline projects, with opportunities for editing.
  • Prepare review outputs and links for client and creative stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient media asset management system that meets the organization's needs.
  • Prepare for online, color, and sound mix.
  • Source stock footage, music, SFX, etc. for editors and producers as requested.

Skills/Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to appropriately prioritize tasks.
  • Any experience with Avid Media Composer is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team, with ownership over some independent tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree in media and communications or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Media Encoder.
  • Experience assisting multiple editors on different projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional technical abilities.
  • Solid understanding of the processes and workflows of media production.
  • Creative and critical thinking skills to develop innovative solutions to media asset management challenges.
  • Analytical skills to measure the effectiveness of media asset management processes and make data driven decisions for improvement.
  • Experience working with footage from various camera formats.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem-solve effectively.
  • 2+ years of experience in a video post-production environment, preferably as an Assistant Editor.

The salary range for this position is $57,700 - $72,100. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
