Job Description

Long Island University Department of Athletics Assistant Coach- Men’s Hockey

The assistant coach will assist with all aspects of an NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey Program. This includes scouting, recruiting, coordinating travel, managing budgets, planning and conducting training sessions, game-day responsibilities, camp creation and implementation, working with other members of the athletic department, community outreach, and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and a record of compliance
  • High level club or college coaching experience
  • Positive interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years hockey at the Division 1 NCAA level
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, QuickTime, iMovie
  • Experience with clinic/camp implementation
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • An established applicable recruiting network
  • Ability to create and provide analysis using video or data
