PURPOSE:

The Primary purpose of this position is to assist Silver State Schools Credit Union to live out its Mission, "Excellent Member Service and Financial Solutions - For Life," by providing outstanding service to both members and internal members. Develop a highly effective team of employees to their highest potential through coaching and leadership. Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this service is to identify the financial needs of the member and recommend an appropriate credit union solution.

SUMMARY:

The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager by overseeing the efficient operation of the branch to ensure all operational functions are completely and properly performed by the team while conveying a feeling of trust, and service.

Has primary responsibility to ensure all operations are handled efficiently and effectively and comply with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. In the absence of the Branch Manager, has responsibility for staffing, member service experience, problem resolution and facilities maintenance. Is responsible for achieving all credit union goals and objectives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following.

  • Responsible for managing risk by maintaining, balancing, and monitoring all cash and negotiable instruments and ensuring tracking and recording logs are completed and processed in a timely manner. Monitor logs and records to assist in reconciling posting errors on member's accounts and verify accuracy of transactions. Adjusts errors and addresses complaints in a professional manner. Completes various reports and projects as required.
  • Be directly involved with coaching, counseling, and mentoring of branch staff, for both sales and operational performance.
  • With assistance from the branch manager, design and develop training applications to assist MSRs in understanding credit union practices and procedures, member services, regulatory compliance, confidentiality, credit union philosophy and culture.
  • Perform MSR or Branch Manager duties as required. Act as custodian of records on behalf of the credit union and perform other duties and functions as might be assigned from time to time consistent with the objective of delivering excellent member service.
  • With assistance from the branch manager, determine branch goals and be responsible for monitoring progress. Coach, counsel and mentor staff to become comfortable with the cross-selling process and achieve success in realizing goals.
  • With assistance of Branch Manager operational duties within the branch are the responsibility of the managers so that member service representatives primary focus is on serving members.
  • Ensures processes are consistently followed and internal audits reflect the adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure excellent member service is implemented through proper scheduling of employees and have a plan in place to handle contingencies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A.A.), Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent from two year college/technical school; or 2-5 years supervisory experience in a financial institution; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
