The Colorado State University Department of Athletics sponsors 16 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports and competes as a member of the NCAA Division I- FBS and the Mountain West Conference. Position Summary
This position is responsible for oversite and support of the department’s Canvas Stadium Events and Engagement and Outreach units which requires the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy of programs and efforts to solicit and schedule external events in Canvas Stadium and other Athletics facilities. Position is responsible for generating a minimum of $300,000 annually in revenue support for the department from such events. Position is also responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy of programs and efforts focused on stakeholder engagement and stewardship including Integrated partnerships with all external units and the supervision of administrative professional staff, student staff and secondary supervision for state classified position.

Required Job Qualifications

- Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.

- Three years of event management experience; Certified Meeting Planner ( CMP ) certification preferred

- Be knowledgeable of appropriate NCAA rules/regulations and support the Department’s commitment to a culture of compliance
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly sales reports
- Work with University entities on contract specifics and rental agreements
- Prepare and disseminate event information, including setup/teardown, labor, equipment, power requirements, etc. in a timely manner
- Oversee set up and implementation of events to ensure proper servicing of accounts
- Meet and greet clients, conduct property tours and promote facilities and services; answer customer inquiries
- Establish usage guidelines including rental costs
- Develop/implement billing and accounting procedures
- Work effectively with a culturally diverse community and advance the Department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Create a reference guide for prospective clients including diagrams of event spaces, costs, food/beverage options, video/equipment needs, etc.
- Be responsible for generating a minimum of $300,000 annually in non-game day stadium revenue
- Work closely with facility directors to ensure coordination with scheduling and set-up staff
- Prepare cost estimates and negotiate rental agreement contracts
- Create and manage a facility booking process that integrates requests from campus partners (Facilities, Lory Student Center, Conference Services, etc.)
- Maintain and continually update event calendar
- Maintain solid and open communication with all operating units; provide support as necessary; maintain current information on actual and potential programs
