Position Summary


The Assembly Technician will be responsible for progressing the general duties and scope of work assigned by the Corporation.


Core Duties And Responsibilities


  • Operation of manual hand tools and power tools as required in assembly and validation work
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to assemble and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems
  • Ability to weld aluminum, mild and stainless steel using MIG & TIG process
  • Follow all environmental health and safety regulations in the course of work; compliance with all OSHA standards
  • Must professionally communicate and collaborate with other team members and supervisors
  • Maintain proper housekeeping so as to promote a safe and efficient workplace
  • Ability to complete manufacturing documentation as required in the course of work
  • Ability to read, interpret and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assembly instructions
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
  • Operation of material handling equipment, including manual and electric power jacks
  • Ability to read mechanical part drawings a plus
  • Experience constructing and operating test stations used to test mechanical parts such as valves, pumps, fans, etc
  • Ability to fabricate mechanical parts and sheet metal assemblies using basic machine shop tools
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and problem solving to diagnose system, sub-system, and ancillary component issues in the course of the manufacturing process


Qualifications And Experience


  • Comfort operating hand/power tools safely and efficiently
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned and commit to a flexible work schedule around manufacturing demand
  • High degree of manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
  • At least one (1) of experience within a manufacturing assembly position; electro-mechanical assembly experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational education/training is preferred

As a Housekeeping Supervisor at the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System, employed by Sanford Federal, Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will oversee a team of housekeeping staff, manage daily operations, and ensure adherence to established cleanliness standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
Supervise and lead a team of housekeeping staff, providing guidance, support, and training as necessary.
Develop and maintain cleaning schedules, ensuring all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained according to established standards.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control measures are followed.
Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and linens.
Coordinate with other departments and healthcare staff to address housekeeping needs and ensure efficient service delivery.
Perform quality control checks to ensure work is performed to the highest standards.
Assist in hiring, onboarding, and evaluating housekeeping staff.
Handle and resolve any customer service issues or complaints in a professional and timely manner.

Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, provide updates, and foster a positive working environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial services, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, and other health care professionals.
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Knowledge of infection control and safety practices in a healthcare setting.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and VA housekeeping guidelines is preferred.
Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Must be detail-oriented and have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Must possess a clean criminal record. A background check will be conducted as part of the selection process to ensure the safety and security of the patients and staff.
