Application Instructions
Please list all professional experience and explain any gaps in employment history. All of your application materials, which may include PDF files of work samples and/or links to audio, video, photography or graphics, must be uploaded to the field labeled Resume/Cover Letter/Work Samples to be considered for the position.

The Washington Post is seeking an arts and entertainment editor to oversee its coverage of movies, television, music, art, theater, architecture, local events and more.
This is a new position that offers the chance to lead an expanded department into a new phase. It’s an opportunity for someone with big ideas and, just as importantly, the ability to execute them.
The editor will work with a team of talented assignment editors, brilliant critics and ambitious staff writers to produce reviews, analyses, profiles, reported features and multimedia packages, and will also coordinate coverage with other departments, including breaking news. Generalists are preferred – the ideal candidate will have informed opinions on this year’s Oscars contenders, who’s winning the streaming wars, the Smithsonian’s expansion plans, Lincoln Center’s renovation, Rosalía and more.
Well-qualified candidates will have at least five years of journalism experience and a track record of elevating the national conversation around arts and entertainment. Prior experience as a manager is a big plus.
This role is based in The Post’s Washington newsroom.
Interested applicants should upload a résumé, three work samples (as PDFs) and a cover letter describing their interest and experience to our jobs portal. All application materials can be uploaded to the same field. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled, but those received by 2/19/2023 will be prioritized. Cover letters should be addressed to Managing Editor Krissah Thompson, Executive Features Editor Ben Williams and Deputy Features Editor Mitch Rubin.
