Position Summary
This position entails the following category of instruction:
Weekly applied Jazz/Contemporary voice lessons taught onsite at the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) Chicago campus, working with students enrolled in the following degree programs:
  • Bachelor of Music Education;
  • Bachelor of Arts.
  • Bachelor of Musical Arts;
  • Bachelor of Music in Jazz or Contemporary Performance;


Potential for teaching in relevant areas, including, but not limited to, Vocal Jazz Ensemble (the New Deal Ensemble) and Vocal Jazz Performance Class.

Job Duties :
  • Submission of a studio syllabus each semester (university-mandated template will be provided) documenting all studio policies, expectations, procedures, and grading criteria.
  • Consistent usage of Roosevelt University email address (to be assigned upon onboarding).
  • Timely submission of all grades.
  • Participation in adjudication of recitals, juries, and auditions.
  • Successful retention of students by means of effective and healthy pedagogy.
  • Active student recruitment.
  • Clear and timely communications.

This is a part-time position with a cap of 20 total teaching hours per week.

Equipment Operated

Working Conditions
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds). May be exposed to loud noise from instrument and voice practice rooms on-site.
