Your work will involve designing, implementing, and evaluating AI algorithms and models to analyze medical data, improve diagnosis accuracy, optimize treatment plans, and enhance patient outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and make a significant impact on healthcare delivery.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Apply statistical and computational techniques to analyze healthcare data, extract meaningful insights, identify patterns, and discover novel associations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, data scientists, engineers, and product managers, to define research objectives and develop AI-powered solutions.
  • Collaborate with external partners, academic institutions, and research organizations to foster innovation and maintain a strong network within the AI research community.
  • Design and implement AI algorithms, models, and frameworks that leverage large-scale healthcare datasets, such as electronic health records, medical images, genomics data, and wearable sensor data.
  • Collect, preprocess, and curate healthcare data, ensuring data quality, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Develop and optimize machine learning and deep learning models for tasks such as medical image analysis, disease prediction, treatment recommendation, and patient monitoring.
  • Document research findings, write research papers, and contribute to scientific publications and conferences.
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and deep learning, specifically in the context of healthcare applications.
  • Evaluate and validate AI models using appropriate metrics and statistical methods, and iteratively refine them to achieve optimal performance.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements in AI and healthcare, and provide guidance on their application in our research projects.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment, managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement complex AI algorithms and models.
  • Knowledge of ethical considerations and regulatory requirements related to AI in healthcare, such as privacy, data security, and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Education / Experience

  • Sound knowledge of machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and Bayesian methods.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent experience in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related field.
  • Experience in working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing frameworks, such as Apache Spark or Hadoop.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, and experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
  • Strong background in AI research, with a focus on healthcare applications, demonstrated through a track record of publications in top-tier conferences or journals.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data sources, standards, and formats, such as electronic health records (EHR), medical imaging (DICOM), genomics data, and clinical trial data.

Specialist Skills (depending On Role Undertaken)

  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) techniques and language models for interpreting human language.
