Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented AI / Machine Language Specialist III to join our team in the National Capital Region.

The Artificial Intelligence / Machine Language Specialist III is responsible for architecting, building, maintaining, and improving new and existing suites of algorithms and their underlying systems. The AI/ML Specialist III implements end-to-end solutions for batch and real-time algorithms along with requisite tooling around monitoring, logging, automated testing, and performance testing. The AI/ML Specialist III identifies new opportunities to optimize operational and business processes, improve customer experiences, and prototype solutions to demonstrate value with a crawl, walk, run mindset. The AI/ML Specialist III works closely with Data Scientists and Analysts to create and deploy new product features. The AI/ML Specialist III establishes scalable, efficient, automated processes for data analyses, model development, validation, and implementation. The AI/ML Specialist III writes efficient and well-organized software to ship products in an iterative, continual-release environment. The AI/ML Specialist III contributes to and promotes good software engineering practices across the team. The AI/ML Specialist III shares knowledge with the team to adopt best practices, as well as contributing to and re-using community best practices. The AI/ML Specialist III is responsible for supervising and mentoring subordinate project and Team ManTech staff.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field.
• Experience with at least one cloud provider solution (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure).
• Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages (e.g., Python).
• 5 years of position-relevant work experience.
• DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level II.
• Experience working with one or more big data tools: to include Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc., or equivalent.
• Experience developing and deploying Machine Learning systems into production.
• Experience working with a variety of relational SQL and NoSQL databases.

Desired Qualifications

• Graduate certificate in AI/ML.
• Expertise in standard software engineering methodology, e.g., unit testing, test automation, continuous integration, code reviews, design documentation.
• Strong knowledge of data pipeline and workflow management tools.
• Master's degree in STEM field.
• Ability to work in a Linux environment.
• Experience with Java, C++, R object-oriented/object function scripting languages.
• Industry experience building innovative end-to-end Machine Learning systems.
• Experience working with distributed systems and service-oriented architectures and designing APIs.
• Relevant working experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to quickly prototype ideas and solve complex problems by adapting creative approaches.

Physical Requirements

• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
