Job Description
343 Industries is the developer of the blockbuster Halo series of video games and, as part of Xbox Game Studios, oversees the Halo franchise including games, television series, novels, comics, licensed collectibles, apparel and more. We are looking for new Spartans to join our team to build the next generation of games and experiences in our in our award-winning sci-fi universe.
343 Industries is looking for an Art Outsource Manager to drive outsource content on a predicable cadence and quality for our Halo Infinite Live product. As an art outsource manager, you will deliver on content goals with multiple external partners through critical artistic feedback as well as management of scheduling and scoping of numerous assets and deliverables. You will engage with a variety of external teams around the world. This position will rely on your artistic and technical skills and experience in creating high quality 3D game art. You will work alongside other artists responsible for concepting, building, updating, and polishing the game consistent with the vision, direction, calendar, and style to keep Halo content fresh, dynamic, and exciting.
Responsibilities
  • Identify risks in advance and drive towards successful mitigation/resolution 
  • Work alongside art leads to direct vision, schedule, and scope of content deliveries
  • Contribute to vendor contract negotiations and review and track costs/budget with production partners.
  • Refine our existing workflows for art content delivery to minimize points of ambiguity and opportunities for disruption
  • Solve quality, technical, and production challenges
  • Track deliverables and schedules alongside production partners for assets across multiple teams using a combination of industry standard and internal tools (shotgrid, Azure Dev Ops)
  • Create/improve partner onboarding documentation and references
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience reviewing game art content
  • 4+ years of experience in shipping production assets in games using industry standard tools
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Design, Fine Arts, Human Computer Interaction, Visual Communications or related art field AND 4+ years experience in art design or a related art field working on computer games or entertainment
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience shipping 2+ multiple projects or products end to end
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience using related software and packages (e.g., Maya, 3DS Max, Photoshop/Adobe suite, Mental Ray, Substance Designer/Painter/Zbrush, SideFX Houdini, After Effects, Unity, Softimage).
  • Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Design, Fine Arts, Human Computer Interaction, Visual Communications or related art field AND 8+ years experience art design or a related art field working on computer games or entertainment
Art IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
