- Conducting historic preservation fieldwork, including documentation of historic buildings, structures, sites, objects, and districts.
- Evaluating properties according to the National Register of Historic Places Criteria for Evaluation.
- Conducting historical background research.
- Assist with preparations of budgets, scopes of work, and proposals.
- Preparing reports and other work products, such as historic contexts, architectural surveys, historic property inventory forms, and National Register of Historic Places nominations.
- Be able to work cooperatively in a team-oriented setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural History, History, Public History, Historic Preservation, or closely related field.
- Experience with preparing nominations for the National Register of Historic Places.
- Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Strong familiarity with architectural terms and styles typical to the western United States.
- Meets the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for Architectural History.
- Familiarity with Historic American Buildings Survey and Historic American Engineering Record documentation.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience in conducting archival research, building and/or cultural landscape and trails inventories, and reporting.
- Master's degree in Architectural History, History, Public History, Historic Preservation, or closely related field.
- Experience preparing Historic American Buildings Survey, Historic American Engineering Record, Historic American Landscape Survey, and National Historic Trails documentation.
- Familiarity with Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado history.
- Experience with National Historic Trails.
