Job Description

WHY JOIN OUR TEAM:

The Minnehaha County Equalization Office invites applications for an Appraiser. Appraisers independently work, research, and travel around Minnehaha County. Each day is different - one day might be spent traveling to look at properties within Minnehaha County and the next day is working in the office with data and research.

**NO PREVIOUS APPRAISAL EXPERIENCE OR CERTIFICATION IS NEEDED.

The hiring range is $24.16 to $27.98 per hour with a full earning potential of $36.73.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Appraise the market value of property and conduct on-site property inspections.
  • Assist the public off- and on-site by phone, email, mail, or in person to provide information concerning the real estate tax process.
  • Review plans, record data, analyze trends and comparable properties, calculate values, and maintain current and historical property information.
  • Locate and identify parcels of land on maps and prepare mapping presentations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

High school diploma or GED and two years of relevant experience. Comparable combination of education and experience may be considered. Possession of CAA certification OR must successfully completed five training courses and passed the Department of Revenue certification examination.
