The Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (A1C) Group needs an API/SQA engineer!


In this role you will meet with internal and external customers around the United States to understand and then communicate their needs to internal stakeholders and the science/engineering team. Together we will discover what is possible and appropriate from a technical perspective. You will participate in the development and documentation of software requirements. You will be part of the development team and be responsible for testing new software. You will assist customers as they interface with our software and advocate for API and design improvements.


As a Software Engineer you will...


  • Propose and advocate improvements to the software API.
  • Assist other developers as needed
  • Work closely with other engineers and physicists to come to solutions for algorithms, program structure and analysis workflow.
  • Work closely with other engineering teams to facilitate interfaces with our software API.
  • Implement automated software testing tools.
  • Review other engineers code.

Qualifications


You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...


  • Have a passion for learning.
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret to start and can ultimately obtain a final Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • A BS degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or other STEM field
  • At least 3 years of professional experience working with C++ or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Enjoy interfacing w/ other engineers, scientists and managers.


You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have...


  • If you have experience with infrared testing and hardware (IR cameras, radiometers, etc.)
  • If you have experience simulating thermal and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to advocate for the design new software interfaces and communicate existing software interfaces with customers.
