KBFS is looking for an A&P Mechanic to support projects in our Geneva, AL, operations.
Description:
The Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic manages and/or inspects aircraft maintenance activity including overhaul, modifications, maintenance and repair of aircraft structure, engine, drivetrain, electrical system, and accessories
Responsibilities:
· Schedules aircraft maintenance considering such factors as work flow, location of equipment and facilities, required tools and test sets, supplies and job requirements.
· Orders parts, lubricants, other supplies, etc., in a timely manner to minimize aircraft down time for these items.
· Performs scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, to include airworthiness inspections, systems troubleshooting, component replacement, powertrain adjustments, and electrical and avionics troubleshooting in accordance with FAA regulations and the manufacturer's specifications.
· Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
· Makes entries to FAA required records, logbooks and other means of historical data tracking.
· Assists Inspection Authority (IA) in maintaining inventory of aircraft and avionics parts, tools, materials, equipment and supplies and coordinates with other employees for ordering parts and supplies in a timely to effectively maximize aircraft availability and minimize aircraft non-operational status.
· Communicates effectively with pilots, customers and fellow employees and works well in a team environment.
· Ensures aircraft, ground support equipment and work areas are maintained to professional standards.

Qualifications:
· High School Graduate or GED and Aircraft and Powerplant Technical Training Certificate.
· Associate's Degree (preferred) - Desired fields of studies are Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics or other Aviation related technical area.
· 1 year of experience performing aircraft maintenance functions that require a valid FAA A&P.
· Previous experience supporting avionics installation and repair is a plus for this position.
· Experience interacting with Federal Aviation Administration Principal Operations Inspectors, Principal Maintenance Inspectors or Aviation Safety Inspectors.
· Previously certified or qualified to perform aircraft engine ground runs or tests.
· A&P experience in repairing general aviation fixed wing aircraft; similar experience in Rotary Wing aircraft is a plus for this position.
· Good working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite.
