Anticipated Probationary Secondary French Teacher

Location: Cheektowaga-Sloan Union Free School District

Salary/Pay Scale: Per the CSUFSD TAC Contract

Position Summary/Purpose:
In the Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD, the faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a positive learning
environment that recognizes the unique needs and talents of all students by combining character
education with a curriculum based on critical thinking. The emphasis is on teaching the whole child in
order to create lifelong learners who are best prepared for college, career and beyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS:
The successful candidate will:

• Be responsible for teaching French;
• Serve as an active member of the CSUFSD professional learning community;
• Be expected to serve as a role model for the students, staff and the community with regard to setting high expectations for learners and supporting them in reaching their goals;
• Have a strong background and knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice, including intervention strategies and strategies to support a diversity of student learning needs; and
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Have a strong background and/or experience in designing engaging lessons that enhance collaborative learning and critical thinking skills;
• Be expected to participate fully in all typical obligations of a high school teacher - including day-to-day instructional duties and administrative tasks;

Requirements:

• Certified in French (7-12)
