Aniimal Care Technician-Vet Assistant-Pt-Temp

This part time position will be under the supervision of the Medical Director and may be trained to perform medical exams on shelter-owned animals in the foster care system and serve as the primary point-of contact for foster volunteers for animal medical questions. This position may also be trained to explain heartworm treatment plans and other medical conditions/procedures to prospective adopters. Must be proficient in basic animal restraint techniques and common animal medical terminology and conditions. This position must have excellent customer service and communication skills and be comfortable explaining common animal medical conditions and treatment plans. This position will also assist staff veterinarians with medical care for animals in the shelter or clinic as needed. Veterinary Assistant experience is preferred. Must have high school diploma or an equivalent; must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License. Part-time hour schedule is flexible.
