Job Description

Summary

The Anesthesia Technician Supervisor reports to the Anesthesia ICCE Chief. Under general supervision, the Anesthesia Technician Supervisor is a working supervisor responsible for the oversight of the Anesthesia Technicians at University Hospital (UH) and Rutledge Tower (RT). This role coordinates and performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist the attending anesthesiologists, residents and nurse anesthetists in performing anesthetic procedures for patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics. This position oversees the maintenance of the supplies and equipment for the Anesthesia Department and works with vendors.

First level management. Typically supervises one or more areas of a department. Supervises two or more professional and or support staff at work as well as their day to day activities. Typically does not have the authority to hire, fire, or promote but their input on these types of actions is highly considered. Main focus is on each employee they manage. May coordinate the business aspects of a department to include but not limited to strategy, project management, budget planning and oversight and financial operations.

Additional

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician required. Compliance in maintaining BLS and any other annual competencies is mandatory. Failure to abide by MUHA policies are subject to disciplinary action, including termination.
