We are seeking an analytical chemist to be hands on in the lab while also helping innovate with our analytical team. Our team is looking for someone who is very comfortable with LC and GC instruments and knows how to effectively troubleshoot most problems when they arise. You will be joining a hardworking team of scientists and will have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of people internal and external to the lab. We strive to foster an environment that is collaborative and innovative, so any additional analytical experience is welcome.

As a analytical chemist...
  • Your primary responsibility will be supporting method development and analysis using LC instruments
  • You will be updating SOPs on how to maintain GC and LC equipment
  • You will be providing analytical subject matter expertise to cross-functional teams

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, or a related field
  • Have 2 or more years of direct analytical chemistry experience working with LC and GC instruments
  • Are willing to travel 10% of your time to support field tests
  • Are able to obtain a Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • Proficient in a variety of sample preparation and extraction techniques
You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...
  • Have 5 or more years of direct analytical chemistry experience in method development, instrument repair, and leading small teams
  • Have experience working in the field with analytical equipment or in austere environments
  • Have expertise in additional analytical instrumentation beyond LC and GC
  • Possess a MS or PhD in Chemistry, or a related field
  • Know how to properly operate and maintain a high resolution mass spectrometer
  • Are highly skilled at research and able to propose new projects and novel techniques
  • Are comfortable working with, building, and maintaining gas and liquid flow connections
