The ESG Analyst is responsible for helping accurately collect, analyze and report on Wendy’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data. This position will lead tactical efforts to create, collect, and analyze structured and unstructured business data to provide insights into impact on operations throughout the business organization. The role will lead data management and advance analytical skills to conduct various business analyses, reporting, budgeting, and environmental forecasting.


The role will work with various functions including Accounting & Finance, Internal Audit, Development, CSR and Operations to help build, maintain and execute data collection processes to ensure accuracy, transparency, and auditability. The role will conduct analysis and provide leadership recommendations to improve and correlate sustainability actions to financial returns and investment and progress to goals. An understanding of ESG data acquisition, accounting and reporting tools and platforms is preferred. The role is integral to the external reporting of ESG information and will be responsible for compiling the required disclosure information.


Responsibilities


  • Monitor ESG disclosure standards (e.g. SASB/ISSB, TCFD, GRI, UN SDGs, etc.) to ensure alignment; track emerging ESG regulations and develop strategies to address them across the business.
  • Track performance against external and internal ESG goals and targets, develop data insights and recommendations for performance improvements, and build dashboards and scorecards to aid in decision-making and external disclosure.
  • Manage an online platform for data collection.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, and with our franchise partners, to improve and streamline data collection capabilities.
  • Create and maintain robust ESG data inputs, outputs, and forecasts. Ensure accuracy, auditability, and development of key ESG metrics and performance indicators. Collaborate with Internal Audit to ensure quality assurance and appropriate internal controls and collaborate with Financial Reporting to ensure complete and accurate climate related reporting within our Forms 10-Q and 10-K.


What we expect from you


  • Familiarity with GHG Protocol and ESG disclosures (CDP, TCFD, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, environmental science, or related fields
  • Strong analytical, project management, detail orientation, and problem-solving skills
  • 0-2 years of experience in accounting, emissions accounting, financial or environmental auditing, or environmental database management
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, and ability to build positive relationships.

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.* The target annual bonus for this role is 7.5% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance. Director and above roles are also eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive award program.

Pay Range: $40,000 - $66,000 Annually
