Job Description
The Analyst, Cyber Security is a member of the Security Operations team responsible for building, managing and supporting the security infrastructure that underpins all internal and external user technology services.


The Analyst supports Cyber Security Engineers with day to day operations; planning and implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data, while always staying up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hackers' methodologies, in order to anticipate security breaches.


The incumbent monitors their assigned platform(s), detecting notifications and anomalies; conducting remediation to make sure the platform(s) is running correctly; and consulting with Cyber Security Engineers when necessary, to resolve issues. Additionally, he/she will field platform enhancement requests from users or stakeholders and provide requested solutions on assigned platform(s).


The incumbent must have a service-oriented mentality, a high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, a focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs, establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.


Primary Accountabilities


Technical (100%)


  • Broad technical understanding: Aware of availability and capacity management processes.
  • Incident management: Identify and register incidents, gathering the required information and allocating to the appropriate channel.
  • Ownership and initiative: Own an issue until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved.
  • Change management: Able to implement changes based on requests for change. Applies change control procedures.
  • User focus: Identify and engage with users or stakeholders to collate user needs evidence and understand and define research which fits user needs; able to use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes.
  • Asset and configuration management: Track, log and correct information to protect assets and components.
  • Service focus: Take inputs and establish coherent frameworks that work.
  • Problem management: Able to investigate problems in systems, processes and services, with an understanding of the level of a problem (e.g. strategic, tactical, operational); contribute to the implementation of remedies and preventative measures.
  • Community collaboration: Able to analyze and assess impact, develop and document change requests. Implement changes based on requests for change.


Required Qualifications


  • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training/certification that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position
  • 3-5 years of related work experience in security engineering
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, or a Bachelor of Arts Degree in a related technical field,

Security Operations


  • Participates in operational, criminal, civil, and regulatory investigations
  • Participates in Incident management
  • Manages and configures IDS and IPS
  • Performs security operations granting permissions based on Need-to-know and least privilege
  • Participates in Investigations
  • Works with logging and monitoring

Additional Information


The national average hiring range for this job is $90000 - $130000 and the salary can fluctuate based on geographic location and qualifications. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to: education, work experience, certifications, labor markets, etc. This role includes an opportunity for


company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Core Company


Performance Bonus.


The actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
