Job Summary

Corewell Health Digital Services is seeking a highly motivated Associate Developer to join our Digital Experience team. As a member of a cross-functional group, team members partner with various roles in the business to deliver web-based solutions which enhance the end user experience for the patients, visitors, staff, and physicians of Corewell Health. Your tenure with the Digital Experience team would primarily focus on Corewell Health’s Digital Front Door properties, including our Corewell Health website, region specific websites, Corewell Health App, and our Find a Doctor products.

Prospective candidates should be a self-starter, have a problem-solving mindset, be innovative, flexible, and always keep the user’s best interests at heart. Our Digital Experience team leverages the Agile methodologies to drive our daily work. Bi-weekly sprints and Agile related ceremonies are cornerstones to our team’s foundation. Additionally, exceptional communication skills and working within a team are vital for your success in this role. New feature work and maintenance responsibilities are shared across the team along with an on-call rotation.

This is a remote position. Working from home is our primary work location. On limited occasions there will be opportunities to visit a Spectrum Health location with the entire team. Those meetings are often scheduled in downtown Grand Rapids for special pre-planned events. While we strive to have all team members be in person when the team chooses to do so, remote participation options will also be provided. Essential Functions

  • Under direct supervision, design, code or configure, test, debug, deploy, document and maintains programs using a variety of software development toolkits, programming languages, testing/verification applications and other tools, while adhering to specific development best practices and quality standards.
  • Other responsibilities may include assisting with troubleshooting and issue analysis, as well as coding, testing, and implementing software enhancements and/or applying patches.
  • Assist in gathering business requirements, translating that information into detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written or configured, and validating that the proposed applications align with the architectural design and with the business needs.

Needed Qualifications:

  • Less than 2 years experience in a related field
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Familiarity with relevant technology, tools and methods including: code development, configuration and component reuse; testing types: unit, regression, integration, system and exploratory; quality control, change control, change management and release management; troubleshooting; software and application development best practices
  • Required Associate's Degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Jenkins, Git/GitHub, OpenShift, Splunk
  • Familiarity Agile-based processes (SAFe, Scrum, XP, etc)
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Familiarity with AWS: Lambdas, API Gateway, Kendra
  • Familiarity with Development languages: Python, .NET Core (C#)
  • Familiarity with React & TypeScript
