Job Description

The Interior / Cabin Technician I is responsible for all duties and functions assigned normally within the airframe and provide airworthiness of the aircraft upon completion of maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Effectively direct the work of less experienced mechanics.
  • Ensure work performed adheres to high quality standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Highly proficient in using technical data and drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.
  • Proficient in removal and installation of aircraft galleys, lavatories, seats, and other equipment located within aircraft.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to comprehend and follow instructions.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally in writing in standard English.
  • Has thorough general knowledge of tools.
  • General mechanical aptitude.
  • Cleans various materials and treats surfaces per the manufacturer’s instructions and specifications.
  • Able to interface in a professional manner with other AAR Aircraft Services employees at all levels and with customers if required.
  • Understands how to read a micrometer, depth gauge or dial calipers.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, service bulletins, aircraft manuals and catalogs and be able to perform complex cabin reconfigurations.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • 5+ years of aircraft interior/cabin experience required.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, service bulletins, aircraft manuals and catalogs and be able to perform complex cabin reconfigurations.
  • Current FAA airframe certificate is preferred, with powerplant certificate not required.
  • Understands how to read a micrometer, depth gauge or dial calipers.
  • High school diploma or GED required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposed to high levels of noise, dust, vibration and chemical fumes. Able to lift fifty (50) pounds without mechanical assistance. Able to bend, twist, squat and lift. Able to access and work in all areas of the aircraft to be worked on, including confined areas. Able to climb on ladders and platforms and work at heights up to fifty feet from the ground. Able to work in extreme climatic conditions.
